Zusammenfassung
60 bis 70% der disseminierten, malignen teratoiden Hodentumoren können heute durch eine hochdosierte Polychemotherapie mit Cis-Platin, Vinblastin und Bleomycin geheilt werden (6). Für einen Teil der übrigen Fälle kommen eine operative Entfernung residueller Tumormanifestationen sowie eine Chemotherapie mit alternativen Zytostatika in Frage. Etoposid (VP 16-213) erwies sich in zahlreichen Untersuchungen als außerordentlich wirksame Substanz bei der Behandlung therapieresistenter maligner Hodentumoren (Übersichten bei 4, 7, 16, 18). Selbst bei der Verwendung in einer zweiten oder dritten Therapielinie konnte für Etoposid eine eindrucksvollere Aktivität nachgewiesen werden als für Vinblastin als Einzelsubstanz bei der Primärbehandlung von germinalen Hodentumoren (12).
