Metabolic Influences on the Corneal Sensitivity
Previous investigators (Boberg-Ans, 1955) have attempted to study the metabolic influence on corneal sensitivity with inadequate methods. Cystine crystals or calcium deposits will decrease the sensitivity. A premature senile arcus in patient’s with hyperlipidemia will also cause local sensitivity changes.
