Zusammenfassung

Nachdem Phillips und Mitarb. [1] 1967 erstmals über eine augeninnendrucksenkende Wirkung des β-Rezeptorenblockers Propranolol berichteten, wurden seither immer weitere Präparate dieser Gruppe auf ihre Brauchbarkeit für die Glaukombehandlung hin untersucht. Wie sich dabei herausstellte, haben zwar viele der geprüften β-Rezeptorenblocker einen augeninnendrucksenkenden Effekt, unterscheiden sich aber zum Teil erheblich hinsichtlich ihrer Wirkung und Nebenwirkungen (Tab. 1).
