Enrichment Techniques for Inorganic Micro- and Trace Analysis

  • Conference paper
Book cover Nature, Aim and Methods of Microchemistry

Abstract

Although modern instrumental techniques of determination are highly sensitive and selective, enrichment techniques are generally required before the determination in micro- and trace analysis to extend the lower limit of determination, to improve the precision and accuracy of analytical results, and to widen the scope of the determination techniques.

This paper reviews the present status of enrichment techniques, special emphasis being given to multi element techniques and to techniques for differentiating various chemical states of a trace element. Also, microscale operations and mechanization and automation of enrichment techniques are briefly discussed.
