Abstract

Sphincter incontinence, ileostomies, colostomies and other corporal deficiencies may be remedied by means of plastic smooth muscle reconstructions. This has been postulated because of its suitability for free transplantation, its tendency to undergo secondary vascularization and innervation, and the retention of its ability to contract and its histological integrity.
