Zusammenfassung
Die erythropoetische Reihe beginnt, soweit morphologisch zu erkennen, mit dem Proerythroblasten und endet mit dem Erythrozyten. Beim gesunden Erwachsenen finden sich die Vorstufen der Erythrozyten im Knochenmark. Nach fünf Tagen und fünf Zellteilungen ist das Zytoplasma der erythropoetischen Zellen mit Hämoglobin gefüllt, und es kommt zur Kernausstoßung, die sogenannten Retikulozyten sind entstanden. Diese Zellen brauchen zwei bis drei Tage zu ihrer Reifung und Wandlung zum Erythrozyten. Erythrozyten leben etwa 120 Tage und werden sodann von phagozytierenden Zellen gefressen. Die Größe der Zellen der erythropoetischen Reihe nimmt mit zunehmender Reife von 22–25 µm auf 7,5 µm (im Ausstrich) ab.
