Aus dem für die Gasphase definierten Wert für das Ionisierungspotential kann unter Heranziehung der Werte der Sublimations- bzw. Dissoziationsenthalpien sowie der Hydratationsenthalpien der ΔH-Wert für die in Wasser erfolgende Redoxreaktion ermittelt werden.
