Abstract

As was already revealed by the historical review of procedures, surgical problems connected with operations on mesencephalon and thalamus are by no means simple. Likewise the ways of approach which stood up to the test of evolution and are used at present for interventions at the various levels of both structures offer some advantages and merits as well as possessing some shortcomings.
