Zusammenfassung

Gemüsepflanzen besitzen, wie andere Pflanzenarten, die Fähigkeit, Nährstoffe in Wasser gelöst über das Blatt aufzunehmen. Diese Eigenschaft macht man sich in erster Linie bei der Behebung von Spurenelement-Mangelerscheinungen zunutze. Die Versorgung mit den Hauptnährstoffen Stickstoff, Phosphorsäure und Kali ist grundsätzlich ebenfalls über das Blatt möglich, doch setzt das hohe Nährstoffbedürfnis der meisten Gemüsearten eine so häufige Verabreichung voraus, daß die Wirtschaftlichkeit dieser Maßnahme nur sehr selten gegeben ist. Die Blattdüngung im Gemüsebau bleibt also auf Sonderfälle beschränkt.
