This paper deals with the selection of a guidance system for space exploration. It reviews the various techniques employed in the systems representing the existing state-of-the-art and selects the technique for the proposed system. The proposed system utilizes range and range data measurements over base lines varying from a few hundred to several thousand miles to provide the most accurate earth based guidance system.
