Abstract
As is well known, if the solution of a dye is irradiated with white light, a part of the visible spectrum is absorbed and the solution appears in the color of the transmitted light. Since most dyes show a single, strong and sufficiently narrow absorption band in the visible region, a relationship between the visible color and the wave length of the main absorption peak can be given as expressed in Table 1 (28, 89)
