Zusammenfassung
Ebenso wie Temperaturdifferenzen einen Wärmefluß zur Folge haben, so tritt als Folge von Konzentrationsdifferenzen im allgemeinen eine Stoffwanderung ein. Die Konzentrationsdifferenz kann allerdings nur mit Einschränkungen als treibende Kraft für die Stoffwanderung angesehen werden; tatsächlich sind Differenzen der partiellen molaren Freien Energie die treibende Kraft. Im Gleichgewicht besteht immer eine Konzentrationsverteilung, die so beschaffen ist, daß die partielle molare Freie Energie aller Stoffe an allen Stellen des Systems gleich groß ist (s. Lewis [1]).
