Part of the book series: Acta Neurovegetativa ((ACTA NEUROVEG.,volume 6))

Abstract

“Different conceptions of the structure of the ultimate peripheral extension of the autonomic nervous system still exist, and the old problem as to whether the innervation is by individual nerve fibres, as in the cerebro spinal nervous system (Retzius, 1892; Cajal, 1911) or by the formation of a peripheral terminal nervous network (Apathy, 1897; Bethe, 1903) has not yet been solved” is a quotation of Meyling (1953) in a recent publication we fully approve.

Supported by a grant of the foundation: Nederlandse Organisatie voor Zuiver Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek (Netherlands’ Organisation for Pure Scientific Research) wherefore our deep gratitude is expressed also here.
