Zusammenfassung
Im Kapitel S. 110 sind Vorgänge als Oxydationen bezeichnet worden, in denen Sauerstoff beteiligt war, Zunahme des Sauerstoffgehaltes eines Stoffes ist als Oxydation, dessen Abnahme als Reduktion bezeichnet. Diese beiden Vorgänge können in eine allgemeine Fassung gebracht werden: Oxydation ist ein Vorgang, bei dem ein Stoff Elektronen abgibt, Reduktion ist ein Vorgang, bei dem ein Stoff Elektronen aufnimmt. Oxydationsmittel ist ein Stoff, der Elektronen aufnimmt, Reduktionsmittel ein Stoff, der Elektronen abgibt. Zwei Beispiele:
