Zusammenfassung

Bei einer Frühmortalität von 10% in den ersten 30 Tagen nach Herztransplantation beträgt die 5-Jahres-Überlebensrate 85%. 1993 wurden am AKH Wien insgesamt 91 orthotope Herztransplantationen und 5 Herzlungentransplantationen durchgeführt. Dieses Jahr wurden bis November 57 Patienten herztransplantiert. Von diesen Patienten sind bis November 8 Patienten verstorben, davon 5, das sind nicht ganz 9%, im ersten postoperativen Monat. Drei dieser 5 Patienten verstarben an einer Sepsis, 1 Patient am Rechtsherzversagen und 1 Patient verstarb in Folge eines „primary donor heart failure“. Die verbesserte operative Technik und postoperative Therapie sind als Grund für dieses gute Outcome anzusehen.
