Recent Result From the \( \bar pp \) Collider

Abstract

The suggestion to convert the CERN SPS into a proton-antiproton collider[1] was motivated by the expectation that the centre-of-mass energy of 540 GeV (an order of magnitude higher than that at existing accelerators) would make it possible to search for the intermediate vector bosons (IVB) W±, Z° predicted by the Standard model of electroweak interactions [2].
