Meson-Meson Scattering in Terms of Quark and Gluon Degrees of Freedom

Abstract

A discussion is made of various models for describing the effect of the gluon field in meson-meson scattering — considered as a (q \(\bar{q}\))(q \(\bar{q}\)) system. These models concentrate on the gluon field overlap factor(GFOF), which is treated successively a) as a constant, b) as a phenomenological function of the quark coordinates, c) in terms of flux-tubes and d) in terms of Monte Carlo lattice calculations.
