Hyperon(S) in the Relativistic Mean Field Theory

Abstract

The relativistic mean field theory (RMFT) is applied to Λ- and multi-Λ hypernuclei. The experimental data are well reproduced in a wide range of Λ-couplings. Calculated hypernuclear magnetic moments exhibit significant deviations from Schmidt values and hence represent a testing ground of relativistic effects. All the used parametrizations predict qualitatively similar dependence of the multi-Λ hypernuclear characteristics on the number of hyperons, with apparent shell structure effects.
