Abstract

The d(γ,N)N reaction and the d(e, e’ N)N reaction are studied in the standard nuclear theory with special emphasis on the role of nucleonic and pionic relativistic corrections (RC). It is shown that the data on photodisintegration cross section definitely require the inclusion of such RC and the use of the pseudovector πN coupling theory. We also present predictions for the longitudinal-transverse structure functions of electrodisintegration at the quasi elastic peak which show remarkable RC variations in forward and backward directions.
