Pion Elastic Scattering on a Polarized 13C Target

Abstract

Calculations of cross sections and asymmetries for pion elastic scattering on polarized 13C are presented. Transition density amplitudes from different nuclear structure models are used to demonstrate the strong sensitivity of the asymmetry to the nuclear structure details. None of the models reproduces the recent data satisfactorily.
