Abstract

The applications of stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) discussed in this talk include: generation of intense tunable light in the infrared, measurement of the relaxation times of molecular vibrations in liquids, determination of spontaneous Raman paramters and nonlinear susceptibilities, generation of short and intense light pulses by backward SRS, and chemical reactions of vibrationally excited molecules.

Vortrag gehalten anläßlich der Fachtagung „Laserspektroskopie“, Graz, 19.–21.Juni 1978.
