Abstract
New solutions to a recently proposed model of mesons as quark-antiquark bound states are presented. The model is covariant, confining, and chirally symmetric. That the two main features of low-energy QCD, confinement and chiral symmety breaking, enter as completely distict components of the model is emphasized. In particular, the confining potential can be taken purely scalar.
