Multiquark Spectra in Large Harmonic Oscillator Bases

Abstract

Theoretical S-wave spectra of the \({{q}^{2}}{{\bar{q}}^{2}}\) system composed of u and d quarks are calculated in harmonic oscillator bases including all the configurations up to Nħω oscillator excitation energy with N ≤ 6. In a first step the calculations are carried out using a natural generalization of the quark-antiquark interaction proposed by Bhaduri et al. and, in a second step, this interaction is supplemented with an effective potential aimed to simulate the annihilation of \(q\bar{q}\) pairs. Our results are discussed in connection with bag model calculations.
