Zusammenfassung
Pulmonaler Surfaktant ist ein hochgesättigtes Phospholipid-Protein-gemisch, das in den Pneumozyten zweiter Ordnung synthetisiert wird. Die bestuntersuchte und auch wichtigste Eigenschaft pulmonalen Surfaktants ist die Stabilisation der Alveolen in der Endexspiration. Dies wird erreicht durch die Fähigkeit dieser Phospholipide, unter Kompressionsbedingungen stabile Filme mit extrem niedrigen Oberflächenspannungen zu bilden (→ Anti-Atelektase Faktor) [1]. Diese Eigenschaft ist auch dafür verantwortlich, daß sich unter Normalbedingungen kein Alveolarödem entwickelt (→ Anti-Ödem-Faktor) [3]. Die Forschung der letzten Jahre hat viele darüberhinaus gehende wesentlich differenziertere Eigenschaften und Funktionen pulmonalen Surfaktants beschrieben.
