Summary

Clinical documentation of success in immunotherapy of allergic asthma. In daily praxis one is left alone to assess the effect of immunotherapy by means of clinical methods only. For some documentation and quantitation a symptom diary is necessary. This should encompass current medication (its changes), sick days, hospital days and PEF-readings. Any specific provocation testing is justified only on the basis of highly standardised methods, allergen extracts and performing the test with caution and scepsis. Skin tests are not reliable for assessing the effect of therapy.
