Zusammenfassung

Glücksspiele stellen seit Jahrtausenden eine beliebte Beschäftigung der Menschen dar. Je nach regionalen Gegebenheiten und gesetzlichen Regelungen finden sich verschiedene Arten des Glücksspiels wie z.B. Lose, Sportwetten in Wettbüros oder auf dem Rennplatz, Spielautomaten oder verschiedene Glücksspiele in Casinos. In Ländern, in denen das Glücksspiel gesetzlich erlaubt ist, hat die Mehrheit der Bevölkerung zumindest einmal in ihrem Leben an einem Glücksspiel teilgenommen. Bei etwa 1–3% der Menschen entwickelt sich jedoch ein Verhalten, das als Spielsucht oder Pathologisches Spielen bezeichnet wird.
