Zusammenfassung

Die Lehre von der Psychologie und Physiologie der kindlichen Sprachentwicklung ist ein Grenzgebiet zwischen Psychologie und Medizin. Es liegt daher in der Natur des Problems, daß die Erforschung der geistigen und damit auch der sprachlichen Entwicklung des Kindes um die letzte Jahrhundertwende vor allem von Pädagogen und Psychologen weitgehend gefördert worden ist (Schultze, Wundt, Preyer, Meumann, Cl. und W. Stern). Seit jeher hat deshalb die vorwiegend naturwissenschaftlich orientierte Forschungsweise der Medizin das Studium der auf einer fehlerhaften Entwicklung beruhenden kindlichen Sprachstörungen den geisteswissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen angepaßt. Wie in der Psychiatrie und Pädiatrie gehört auch für die Sprachheilkunde die gebührende Anwendung der psychologischen Forschungsergebnisse zu den wegweisenden Grundlagen.
