Part of the book series: Advances and Technical Standards in Neurosurgery ((NEUROSURGERY,volume 6))

Abstract

A better understanding of spasticity and of its pathophysiology has progressively emerged from the period of pure neurological description. Spasticity should no longer be considered either as unavoidable during the recovery of a motor deficit, or as an irreversible state.

Problems of neurogenic bladder will not be studied in this article. Cf.: Pedersen, E. Acta neurol. Scand. Suppl. 20, Vol. 42 (1966), 184 p.
