Die Weichteile des Gesichts und auch die Schleimhäute an der Innenseite der Wangen und Lippen sind der Inspektion und Palpation gut zugänglich und daher lediglich im Fall entzündlicher oder tumoröser Veränderungen in der Tiefe der Weichteile Zielgebiet der sonographischen Untersuchung.
