Celebral Contusions, Lacerations and Hematomas

Part of the book series: Advances in Neurotraumatology ((NEUROTRAUMATOL.,volume 3))

Abstract

The limits, difficulties and some controversies in our understanding of the neuropathology of the injured brain have been competently discussed by a number of authors, and more recently by Strich (1969, 1970), Adams and Graham (1972), Adams (1975), Adams et al. (1977), Vigouroux and Guillermain (1981), Jennett and Teasdale (1981), Arseni and Oprescu (1972, 1984), Henn (1989).

Most regretfully Ion Oprescu died on the 12th December 1988. Therefore his manuscript and figures are nearly the same as his original version. For revision of terminology we thank Phillip Harris, Edinburgh, and Roland Schröder, Köln.
