Zusammenfassung

Bei Untersuchungen an Nagetieren wurden verschiedene Subtypen von Glutamatrezeptorcn beschrieben. Man unterschied dabei zwischen NMDA, AMPA/Kainat und metabotropen Glutamatrezeptoren. Durch Untersuchungen auf molekularbiologischer Ebene gelang es weitere Subtypen, insbesondere auch der Kainatrezeptoren zu definieren (Lomeli et al. 1992, Henley 1994).
