Abstract

Designed for the EIB System for Home and Building Electronics, the EIB Home Management (EHM) concept combines a powerful software framework for PC’s (the Home Assistant) with a device model mirrored on EIB Distributed Objects. Its notion of wizard-like Easy Installation realistically matches the aspirations of plug and play with the not always deterministic nature of user expectations. A dedicated Appliance Interface opens up EHM to white and brown goods.

The resulting approach brings management-level control and integration to Home Automation. Thanks to a specially designed touch-screen User Interface, the occupant can unlock the versatility of the underlying EIB installation.
