Abstract
Phase transitions of a mesogenic long-chain tatraphenyl-porphyrin have been investigated by FT-IR and FT-Raman spectroscopic methods. It was revealed that the alkyl chain disorder occurs in the mesomorphic phases. Furthermore, some spectral changes related to the tautomerization of the N-H group as well as the arrangement in the mesophases were found through the mesomorphic phase transitions.
