Abstract

Some problems in solid state physics are outlined where the use of high-resolution Fourier-transform spectroscopy offers new and unique possibilities. The work of the author’s group is summarized, mainly. Three specific problems are discussed in more detail, namely, hyperfine interactions, isotope effects, and magnetic properties of insulators and semiconductors.
