Zusammenfassung
Die Entwicklung dissoziativer Störungen bei Kindern, Jugendlichen sowie Erwachsenen wird im Zusammenhang traumatischer Erfahrungen in der Lebensgeschichte der Betroffenen gesehen. Unter Rückgriff auf ätiopatho- genetische Vorstellungen von Janet (1889) wurde das Modell der Dissoziation als der bedeutsame Pathomechanismus bei der Bewältigung von Traumen, vor allem in den USA, diskutiert und fand im Zuge der Renaissance Janets in der amerikanischen Psychiatrie Eingang bei der Neuordnung „hysterischer Krankheitsbilder“ in die Klassifikationschemata DSM III-R und ICD-10.
