Abstract

The current state of analysis of e + e annihilation below 2.0 GeV and of the vector component of τ-decay is reviewed, and the evidence for and against the presence of hybrid vectors discussed. The role of photoproduction as a complementary approach is outlined, both at high and intermediate energies. It is stressed that photoproduction does not simply mirror e + e annihilation, and provides a much richer source of meson spectroscopy.
