The Role of N*(1520) Resonance in Eta Photoproduction in the Light of New Polarization Data

Abstract

We examine the η photoproduction from nucleons in the cm energy region around 1530 MeV and study the role of N* (1520) resonance with the help of recently obtained polarized target and photon asymmetry data. We show here that these polarization data, in conjunction with the differential cross-section data, yield model-insensitive constraints on the electrostrong parameters for the excitation and decay of the N* (1520) resonance.
