Zusammenfassung
Das Rabies-Virus gehört zur Familie der Rhabdoviridae, Genus Lyssavirus, mit einer einzelnen, minussträngigen Ribonukleinsäure (RNA) und einer Reihe von Strukturproteinen. Die L-, N- und NS-Proteine sind an die Virion-RNA gebunden und bilden den Nukleoproteinkomplex, der eine helical gewickelte Struktur im Virion bildet. Dieses Nukleocapsid ist von einer Lipoproteinhülle umgeben, die das M-Protein und Fortsätze des G-Proteins enthält. Letzteres ist das immunodominante Protein, welches für die Bildung von virusneutralisierenden Antikörpern verantwortlich ist.
