Psychopharmakotherapie in der Gerontopsychiatrie

Zusammenfassung

Psychische Erkrankungen können bei alten Patienten wie bei Patienten im jüngeren Lebensalter wirksam medikamentös behandelt werden. Noch bedeutsamer als bei der Behandlung jüngerer Patienten ist allerdings, daß eine medikamentöse Behandlung nicht isoliert, sondern im Rahmen einer Gesamtstrategie durchgeführt werden muß, und daß eine Beziehung zwischen Krankheit, Medikament, primären Angriffspunkten des Medikamentes, weniger erwünschten weiteren Angriffspunkten, dem Verlauf der Krankheit, dem Auftreten von Nebenwirkungen und der resultierenden Lebensqualität des Patienten in Form einer Art Netzwerk besteht (Abb. 17.1, nach Trabucchi, unveröffentlicht, 1989).
