Jedes Programm in einer höheren Programmiersprache muß in eine Form gebracht werden, die als Eingabe von einem Übersetzer akzeptiert wird, sodaß dieser ein lanffähiges Programm in Maschinencode oder in einer anderen Programmiersprache erzeugen kann.
