Zusammenfassung
In den vergangenen Jahren rückten die Otolithenfunktion und ihre Störungen zunehmend in das Interesse der Otologen. Die nennenswerte Anzahl nicht befriedigend zu klärender Krankheitsbilder mit Schwindelbeschwerden und die bislang limitierten Therapiemöglichkeiten bei otogenen Schwindelbeschwerden fordern neue diagnostische und therapeutische Konzepte. In diesem Zusammenhang ist die überwiegende Orientierung der klinischen Otologie auf die Erkrankungen der Bogengänge zu diskutieren. Nachdem auch an der Hamburger Klinik eine Reihe von Diagnostikverfahren der Otolithenfunktion entwickelt und erprobt wurden, werden derzeit mikrootochirurgische Techniken zur isolierten Otolithenausschaltung erarbeitet. Im vorliegenden Referat werden vor dem Hintergrund der physiologischen Eigenheiten der Otolithenorgane klinisch relevante Untersuchungstechniken vorgestellt.
