Zusammenfassung
Systematische Schwindelbeschwerden sind in etwa einem Drittel der Fälle des Krankengutes der Hamburger Klinik einer otogenen Ursache zuzuordnen. Während der überwiegende Anteil der nicht entzündlichen, nicht neoplastischen Labyrintherkrankungen erfolgreich konservativ therapiert wird, sind mikrootochirurgische Behandlungsverfahren für chronisch entzündliche und tumoröse Erkrankungen mit Destruktion der Labyrinthkapsel, für Raumforderungen des inneren Gehörgangs und für ausgewählte Fälle von Labyrintherkrankungen die Therapie der Wahl. Eine Reihe von Operationsverfahren hat dabei die selektive Ausschaltung des Labyrinths in den Fällen zum Ziel, in denen eine kausale Behandlung der Erkrankung nicht möglich ist.
