Zusammenfassung

Die Untersuchung humoraler Veränderungen beim Schlafentzug (SE) ist einer von vielen Wegen, sich den antidepressiven Wirkmechanismen oder der Subtypisierung in SE-Responder (R) und SE-Nonresponder (NR) zu nähern. Einerseits könnten manche SE-induzierte Effekte in humoralen Systemen, z. B. dem Glucocorticoidsystem oder dem thyreoidalen System, per se depressiogen oder antidepressiv sein, andererseits ist es naheliegend, von Änderungen in manchen Hormonsystemen auf parallele Prozesse auf Neurotransmitterebene zu schließen, z. B. auf dopaminerge oder noradrenerge Mechanismen bei der HGH-Sekretion. Es werden deswegen unten auch Befunde zu den Katecholaminen dargestellt.
