Abstract
The goal of conservation is to preserve objects of art and of culture for future generations. To achieve this goal, the factors causing deterioration must be countered or, at the very least, abated. Depending upon the particular art or cultural treasure, the process of preventing deterioration may be straightforward or nearly impossible.
