Abstract

For the different types of mummification see Part I (Bereuter 1996, in this volume, pp. 265–273). We present here the preliminary results obtained by investigation of a small part of skin tissue from the Iceman. The sample was found during the second excavation at the place of discovery of the Iceman near the Tiesenjoch. It is part of the skin from the left pelvic region.
