Zusammenfassung
Die gesellschaftliche Veranstaltung, die sich Medizin nennt, läßt sich in die drei Schritte „Wissensgenerierung“, „Wissensanwendung“ und „Ergebnisse“ zergliedern. Wenn von Qualität gesprochen wird, dann kann zunächst verlangt werden, daß der Prozeß der Wissensgenerierung, also die Forschung, von möglichst hoher Qualität ist; dann der Prozeß der Wissensanwendung, also die Therapie; und schließlich sollte auch das gewünschte Ergebnis von höchster Qualität sein.
