Zusammenfassung
Das Parkinson-Syndrom umfaßt motorische, psychische und vegetative Symptome, die durch sehr verschiedene medikamentöse Behandlungsverfahren positiv beeinflußt werden können. Der Begriff Parkinson-Mittel orientiert sich ausschließlich an der Wirksamkeit auf die charakteristischen motorischen Symptome Akinese, Rigor und Ruhetremor. Als Parkinson-Mittel werden somit Substanzen bezeichnet, die mit dem Ziel eingesetzt werden, diese Symptome zu beseitigen oder zu bessern. Die Abgrenzung ist jedoch nicht scharf, da auch Medikamente mit anderen Hauptindikationen einen positiven Effekt auf motorische ParkinsonSymptome ausüben können (z.B. Betablokker und atypische Neuroleptika auf den Parkinson-Tremor), ohne deshalb als Parkinson-Mittel bezeichnet zu werden. Letzteres gilt auch für alle Medikamente, die symptombezogen zur Therapie nicht-motorischer, psychischer und vegetativer Krankheitszeichen von Parkinson-Kranken verabreicht werden.
