Abstract

Progress in neurosurgery, like in any other medical discipline depends nowadays on very elaborate, complex and expensive research. This is driven by the natural curiosity of man, his endeavour for improvement and by competition. There is no doubt that those forces lie at the basis of the great achievements the medical profession is proud of and which, most importantly, benefit the patients.
