Abstract

The four-body equations of Alt, Grassberger and Sandhas are solved for a system of four nucleons, using the Paris, Argonne V14, Bonn-B and Bonn-A potentials in channels j ≤ 2. The results of the calculation are compared with data for the reactions dddd, ddp 3 H and n 3 Hn 3 H. The calculations indicate that the NN P-waves have a strong effect on 4N observables but remaining disagreement with data shows the need for a 3N force.
