Abstract

We have developed a Multiple-Sampling and Tracking Proportional Chamber (MSTPC) for the measurement of reactions involving unstable nuclei. We have measured the 8Li(α, n)11B reaction directly and exclusively by using the MSTPC, and obtained a new data of the total cross section.
